The Challenger Learning Center of Woodstock IL, invites you to consider career opportunities with us. As a not-for-profit organization formed to continue the education mission of STS-51-L for young students, Challenger Center's staff members are comprised of classroom educators, volunteers and those who share a genuine passion for space exploration.

Current Volunteer Openings - Woodstock Challenger Learning Center
Volunteers are critical in helping us complete our mission, educating our future leaders! We are always seeking out friendly, enthusiastic people of all ages to assist in delivering our educational message to over 10,000 kids a year! We invite you to join the Challenger Learning Center as a volunteer!
Reception/Gift Shop
Times Needed: MWF 2-5pm, T 12-3pm, Th. 9-3pm
Friendly individuals needed to greet visitors as they enter the building, answer phones, and assist as needed with cashier and customer assistance duties in our new "Blast Off" Gift Shop.
Mission Specialists
Times Needed: September through May, M-F, mornings and afternoons Friendly, enthusiastic individuals needed to assist our teachers in conducting our Rendezvous with a Comet mission for school kids. Help is needed in both our Mission Control and Space Station simulators. Training is provided.
Event/Marketing/Advertising Special Events at the Challenger Learning center are essential to our growth and getting the word out about the Challenger. Throughout the year, we host events directly or in conjunction with various groups and your expertise in planning and launching successful events is appreciated. Additionally, day of event volunteers are needed.
Technician We need volunteers that love Apple! MAC computers are the platform that all of our missions are based upon. With students, staff and teachers interfacing daily with our platform, your expertise would be valuable.
Web-Master Our site mirrors the national site, however, we are looking to expand the capabilities of our site that would support our operations and lower our cost of operating, and expand our marketing reach to educators and the general public. Your experience and creativity in this arena would produce excellent results.
